Blog: The Return

I'm baaaaaack.

I guess I never really left; I just felt blogging wasn't really working for me.  People never really checked out any of my blogs so it felt like a waste.  They always make it seem like blogging, facebooking, tweeting as well as youtubery will connect you to the world; you'll find like-minded individuals and get into discussions with those who are not.

Technology is supposed to bring us together and make the world that much smaller.....

As Edna K. so expertly puts it, "Ha!"

With people texting while driving or operating machinery and people's heads buried in devices in situations (like family or friend functions, waiting in lines, at coffee shops) that they used to stike up conversations, it's clear the only ones who benefit from this culture of tech addiction are wrist surgeons and highway clean-up crews.

Regardless of how many (or how few) people actually read this blog I will endeavor to write here my thoughts on political news stories, media coverage as well as a look at movies and tv, good and bad.  As a writer, I am very pro-scripted entertainment as opposed to "reality" and like to find good stories on tv or at the movies.  My goal is also to try and point out the conservative themes I find on the screen as well as the liberalism that seems to reign there.  This seems to be a focus that is lacking on the web or anywhere else, perhaps because many feel, "Hollywood is liberal. And that's that."  Conservatism is there...sometimes even the writers and producers don't realize it!

Let's hope another couple of years don't pass before my next posting!
